Turkeys or Eagles ... The question is much more life changing than you realize. I was reading an article the other day about how to reach your goals from people that have become uber successful. No matter what book you read, podcast you listen to ... it all comes down to the same principles. If you want to elevate who you are, what you do, then surround yourself with those that raise your vibration. Raise it up baby! I had a brilliant meeting with Jonathon Leech, VP of Harris Printing, one of several family businesses that have remained successful in the days where family businesses are becoming few and far between. The guy is not only intelligent, but comes to the table with an engineering degree and a career in the aerospace industry. He has a gift, a gift of communication. This is amazing in this day and age where communication is becoming a lost art. AND ... he was hilarious. We covered not only my printing needs but that of the disintegration of social graces, communication, kids, business, social media... yup, we covered it all. I went to him because I believe in supporting the people that we know...especially in business and especially locally if I can. I'm on the road to moving up my book plan ... The Humble Pie Chronicles ... keeps trucking along. In our discussion of people in general ... he came up with this quote ... he is a quote guy. The one that is posted above, I had never heard it before. He was surprised I hadn't ... and we all know I'm a quote kinda girl. It resonated with me because it is one of the things that I know to be true and one of the things that I try to promote with my clients and in all my writing. Turkeys or Eagles. I've had times where I've fallen out of the sky and thought a turkey here or there might defy gravity and learn to fly along side me ... but in reality ... turkeys don't fly. Me and Turkeys...not so much. Nothing in common there. I know from my own experiences that in hanging out with the turkeys, they do indeed bring you down to their level, whether you are aware of it or not. It's happens quickly... before you know it, you're molting turkey feathers. Wait... do turkeys molt? Well, whether they do or not... you get the picture. I am not one that is ground bound. I'm not good with other ground bound birds either... I recognize that. It's simple, I just don't understand turkey mentality. I fact most times I find it mind boggling. Why would anyone want to be ground bound? Sometimes I think that some of us aren't even aware that turkeys have taken over our lives. Sometimes it happens and you need an eagle to coming soaring in to say... hey... smarten up... it's time to fly. I find that some people like being turkeys and like being ground bound. Flying isn't for everyone. I think it's about comfort zone ... familiarity and it's easy. Not as much work when you don't have to spread your wings and take off. Some ... are afraid to fly ... afraid to step of the edge and soar. I would like to think in my life ... I want to fly... I look at raising my own vibration to that of other eagles. I don't want to be ground bound and I always encourage my clients to set their goals at eagle level. I would rather die from fear of flying to destinations unknown, than hanging out in the turkey barn. So find others that raise your vibration... we are all energy... we can be positive energy or negative energy ... find the positive energy and soak it up. Not only that, share it. Me ... I want eagles in my life... lots of them. I want my kids to be eagles ... I want my clients to be eagles. Raise yourself up. Turkeys ... good for Christmas dinner ... stuffed ... with cranberry jelly.
