I'm killing myself laughing.
M.O.B.
How many of you tried to figure out what M.O.B. even stood for. The responses and questions I was getting were awesome! I have to say only a couple of people actually guessed what the acronym stood for, there were some very inventive guesses to be sure that all in all made me giggle profusely. I so amuse myself sometimes. Those of you with no sense of humor ... well, grab a bit of levity in your life, or just bite me.
Yes... Mother Of the Bride. That's me and a very proud one at that. What better gift in this journey of life than fabulous kids that choose fabulous spouses. I am indeed blessed. Okay so enough about them. This is about me.
There's a tiny bit of pressure in being the mother of the bride and this new section of CharisOnLife is going to tap into so of the trials and tribulations of holding the title of M.O.B. it might be more demanding than holding the title of 'The Stoneboat Queen', we'll see. At least as 'The Stoneboat Queen' I got to wear a crown.( if you scroll down in the Life blog you will my last post describing exactly what this means ..tee hee)
I wonder if Steph would mind ... Do M.O.B's get a crown, maybe a tiara? Anything?
So ... now the work begins. In 33 days and counting, my little girl is getting married. Hitched, hooked up, the old ball and chain, the wifey, beginning of her very exciting and new life. Did I mention 33 days and counting? Here is where the problem lies.
33 days and counting. Nine months ago, when they announced their engagement (YA!) and then the date to the impending nuptials ... my thought was fantastic! Fricking awesome! I have eight months to get in the best M.O.B. shape ever so that in my 50th year, I could look back in the wedding pictures that totally immortalizes you forever ... and think ... man I rocked 50.
Well ... eight months have passed by and what have I done ... for lack of better wording ... dick shit. OMG ... 33 days. I haven't lost the 40 pounds I needed to fit into a stunning dress! The flab on my arms ... still flabby. The extra saddle bags on my hips ... yup ... they are still there too. I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING! So ... now the pressure is on. I did find an exquisite dress, but it sure would look better even if I dropped 10 pounds. When I saw the pictures from the shower, I shuddered ... I had 50 year old mid-drift and sag. Time to do something about it.
The M.O.B Project is just about this. I'm going to make a last ditch effort in the next 30 days, to transform. At least a little bit. As the M.O.B. I have a tradition to uphold and I will not disappoint all of the other M.O.B.'s before me. I am ready to get moving. We will also look at some other ways that being the M.O.B. AND being fifty has made me feel like I have to make other changes in my life and I want to really be the best I can be for the next 50 years. I will take you along on the last part of this journey and will share with you the fun times that we have had in preparing for the wedding and men and women both will appreciate what it takes.
I ask anyone that would like to follow along, join the transformation and well support this M.O.B. on this windy and bumpy road to becoming the M.O.B. of excellence. I will have several blog pages under The M.O.B. Project page as well as a Facebook group that anyone can join is they want to partake or just tag along. I will be offering an awesome gift to the one person that shows exemplary support and progress and joins me in the next 30 days. Why? because I so appreciate the support.
The biggest thing I want to accomplish in the next 30 days is showing my followers that if I can tackle my goals and succeed, then it will help you realize that any of you can too! Wish me Luck! Throughout the day today you will see me adding posts as to the exciting changes and activities, keep checking in! There are a ton of M.O.B.'s out there preparing for this summer's activities, please share and let's encourage them as well!!! To M.O.B.'s everywhere! More than that, to all of you that need a little encouragement to start making some changes in your life. Rock On!
