What is the S.U.S. Initiative?
The STARVING UNIVERSITY STUDENTS from every university campus and beyond. Yes we all know that the few years following getting our university and college degrees are slim pickins. This initiative is thanks to my dear niece to started university this year. (The beauty below) She very thankfully came to dinner with the family the other night and took a bag of goodies back to her dorm with her. She was talking about how horrible the cafeteria food is and that for anyone that is trying to eat healthy... that's not it.
She prides herself in taking care of herself, works out, eats healthy...but being in a dorm... it makes it difficult. She has a microwave to be sure but...she can't believe the garbage that they cook for the students. So.. it inspired me to create this program and to help keep all of our kids happy, healthy and nutritionally jacked up with pre4mium quality food. It will feed and increase their energy, boost their performance levels, build lean muscle mass and then ..phew...we don't have to worry about them. (at least they will be fed properly)
Now...the caveat is that although I can help them out with their nutritional needs, I can't stop the alcohol consumption at beer bashes and the such. Sorry parents ... my helping hands can only reach so far.
We all know that college/university kids will stay in bed until the last possible second. We also know they need snacks during the day. They will also need a hangover cure...just because that is what college kids do. So lets' make it easier for all of you students to grab grub on the go and head out the door.
Let me save your university butts.
Sometimes personal development comes in the throws of chaos, sometimes it comes from hitting rock bottom, sometimes it comes from finally making the decision to be the best that you can be. When I decided to start the M.O.B. Project, it was because I was letting myself down.
I had become complacent.
Not only that, I had come to just BE, as status quo and I had become tired, overweight and just blah. Even my brain was suffering because I felt for lack of a technical term.... just plain yucky. This wasn't who I was and I was unsure how I let myself get this way. Complacent.
It's not status quo... its just plain ol' laziness. I was being lazy. I didn't want to put in the time or effort to change my life.
In the other parts of my coaching I talk about let the inside and outside match. Are you happy with how you feel inside and outside? Truly feel like you are your best? If you can say yes... then man... you are my hero. Not only that... tell me how you wrap your head around that. Everyone has struggles of many kinds, everyone of us have demons in our closets that stop us from living a healthy and happy life. However, when we stop trying to better ourselves, let's all just lay down. THAT is the epitome of complacent. Why do we do this?
My last piece as we have talked about before was my body. I wasn't eating enough, I wasn't active enough, I wasn't paying attention to the fact that I'm aging and that I had to get my shit together.
When I made those changes in my life, I couldn't believe that I had changed my healthy, my body and my outlook on how I presented myself had now come full circle. Walk the walk and talk the talk. I want the work I do to be relevant, I want to make a difference in people's lives. That's why I started the TAKE MY HAND CHALLENGE, to encourage others not only to help themselves but to help others. I'm changing the name to the TAKE MY HAND INITIATIVE because it's going to be the premise of my life long ambition in all that I do. One step at a time... that is why I started with nutrition. When people eat properly, they feel better, mentally, emotionally and physically. When people feel great in these areas then they want to keep going... keep improving themselves. The TAKE MY HAND INITIATIVE is about providing support for all of those that we love instead of tearing them down.
Let's stand together and prop each other up.
This goes far beyond any separate program I'm running but a combination of all of it. It's about being actively present for others. Too gushy for you... then get off my train. It starts with me, it starts with you. When people find this too "FEEL GOOD" that just means that they, you aren't ready to be a part of this bigger picture in helping others.
Building support, building teams and building communities is so far beyond losing weight together, or donating to a charity.... what are you doing personally to help others, where you actually reach out and actively care and support them in what they are trying to do. Ask yourself what your answer was the last time someone you know asked you to support them in the changes they were trying to make in their lives. We don't have to agree with them, some changes are good...others not so good. It is not for us to judge, but to love and support.
So whether you are looking to find out who you are inside and out or that you're asking people to help you along your journey, I hopefully can help in one way, shape or form. I AM YOUR COACH.
Let's take it in baby steps together, gather your herd and support one another.
This series I'm running is about wellness , improving both your body and mind through nutrition and through personal development on your mindset. We are digging deep. Some of you will be to afraid to do one, never mind two, but the truth is you need to have both to be successful in the changes you want to make in your life. Don't be scared. I'm here to TAKE YOUR HAND... I will guide and help you along the way. This is however a two way street, I cannot help you if you do not let me be a part of your journey. Exercise is the use or application of physical effort and activity to support your body. The goal is to support individuals in moving from their current level of activity to their desired level of activity.

I don't know about you but I don't want to eat anymore pumpkin, carve pumpkins and for sure I DON'T WANT TO LOOK LIKE A PUMPKIN! Making changes in your life is sometimes daunting, sometimes scary. Why scary? Because people don't want to fail generally, they also sometimes afraid to do it on their own. Reasons being that most people are motivated by others because it's hard motivating yourself?
Truth is, we first have to believe in ourselves and then we can help others believe in themselves. Most times that road is shorter when you have someone you trust in your corner.
Someone that wants you to succeed.
Someone that cares about you.
Someone that wants you to be the best you that you can be.
Someone that is on your cheering squad.
Some people, and I would say most not only feel motivated and but totally invigorated and more focused by having people beside them. Why? They feel good about themselves, and when people feel good about themselves, they can accomplish anything.
This is what I do, it is my entire reason for becoming a life coach, a mentor, a team captain, a cheering squad and a friend. I want you to be the best you can be, and I will find every way possible to help you do that. Why? Because I really care about this, straight from my heart. I want people to be as mentally, physically and emotionally healthy as possible. I want your quality of life to be exactly what you dreamed it could be. We all deserve it.
Like I said, sometimes it takes work. It also takes perseverance and willpower, most of all it takes the support of others.

As most of you know, I have been encouraging others to eat well, eat healthy, eat to build a well oiled machine. Eating well means your body is functioning at its optimal capacity. When that happens our energy rates boost up, our metabolism gets fired up and low and behold, we start dropping unwanted pounds. Being overweight as we all know is an epidemic, so much so it is considered one of the main causes of death and disease in our society. It's literally killing us. Think of all of the health issues that are a result of overweight. as an exercise, start listing them, then tell me that you don't want to change your life.
People CAN beautiful no matter what size they are.
People CAN be very happy no matter what size they are.
People CANNOT be healthy and live long, active, healthy lives when they are overweight. It puts strain, wear and tear on ALL of your body.
This doesn't even include the factors of not eating the right foods, getting enough exercise or what not getting enough sleep does to your body.
There are many people out there that want to make these changes, they are looking for someone to go through it with them. ALWAYS! So...I've decided to encourage you even further. You will ALWAYS have my support and the support of The M.O.B. Squad, ALWAYS. I want you to encourage your peeps not only to help and support you in your decision to be healthy, but realize that you care enough about them to include them in your journey to GET HEALTHY!
We all want our friends and family to be healthy, we love them, we want what's best for them. We want them to be around for a long, long time.
