The 30 Day M.O.B. Fat Blaster Challenge
It's M.O.B. Monday and the Stats are in! I have to say that I am duly impressed! Moreover, I feel like a million bucks. I'm not dragging my butt out of bed but wide awake at 6 and ready to go. I've already showered, cut my hair, done my hair, did my M.O.B. morning exercises, took my measurements and have started writing for the day. And ... the time is 7:41. Did I mention I feel fabulous? There is more to say about the program I'm on rather than just the weight loss, the nutritional value of what I'm putting into my body is changing everything. I was lacking energy and it's back! I haven't felt like this in a VERY LONG TIME! The harsh reality I have to face (i should have been more prepared because I knew this would be the case) my boobs are saying goodbye. Yup, sad day. I thought the fact that gravity was starting to kick in was bad but now ... the inches are rolling away. Why is it that the place you least want to lose weight is always the place you lose it first? This has always been the case for me, I lose weight, my boobs go first, I'm okay with that as long as my butt is not far behind. (no pun intended haha anyhow) Let me say how impressed I am with the number of people are jumping on board to the M.O.B. challenge! People are joining in and getting out walking, starting to think differently about how they are eating and actively making the decision to lose weight. Those are all HUGE steps so congrats to you on that! To those of you that have joined me on the same weight management system I'm using ... I'M SO EXCITED! We truly can go on this journey together! LET'S ROCK IT! So ... let's go over this last week and the first week of The 30 Day M.O.B. Fat Blaster Challenge. I'm going to tell you right now, in my 50 years, I have never felt this good losing weight. My energy is WAY up there ... and so loving that with my busy schedule. My weight ... is way down there ... WOOOOHHHOOOOOO! My motivation is just getting stronger! 26 days left until the wedding! 22 days left in the M.O.B. Challenge! Here are the stats to date: I'm impressed with the stats but as you will notice, I added some extra categories this week, just for my own reference. I want to be really clear that weight isn't always the best way to measure body changes. You have to look at this in all other ways, not just what the scale is telling you. The next thing that will happen as I start increasing my workouts, is that some of my measurements might increase, like biceps and calves. I know from previously working out that my weight also went up because I was building muscle and as we all know, muscle is heavier than fat. So ... what I'm saying is this, keep your perspective on the scale issue, it's relative. Be more aware of how your clothes are fitting and how your body is changing ...
Things I have noticed as the week goes on: 1. My cravings are lessening every day. (sugar isn't even on my radar) 2. I was able to make good food choices when I had to go out to socialize. 3. I'm noticing the other food that I am cooking for my 14 year old, not liking it. 4. I'm noticing that my clothes are fitting different, and they aren't tight. 5. I think the changes in measurements are encouraging. 6. I have ROCKSTAR ENERGY! The ultimate challenge came this weekend when I not only had to cook some things that I love to make but I had to watch other people eating it. I was kind of dreading it. Truth is ... it didn't make a difference. Now this is the thing being the M.O.B. and having all of these wedding functions to attend. It was my daughter's bachlorette party and they were having a great time celebrating, I really noticed that the food that was laid out for the event, did look yummy and delicious, but I have to say I was very okay not eating any. I had my shake prior to attending, had my ice water constantly in my hand and the thought of my dress in constant focus the whole time. All I could think about was M.O.B., M.O.B.,M.O.B.,M.O.B.,M.O.B.,M.O.B.,M.O.B.,M.O.B.,M.O.B.,M.O.B.,M.O.B.,M.O.B., I gotta look fabulous as the M.O.B. I the end, I didn't mind at all and the company was so much fun, I didn't mind not having a couple of cocktails. Yesterday, my dear son, the growing Goliath that he is was starving after his basketball game and pleaded for a double cheeseburger or two at McD's. I said yes, just because he will burn it off, or so I told myself. (This is when I decided that I am going to make changes in his diet as well, more focused on energy and sport performance and his growing nutritional needs.) So ... as he sat there and demolished the food, the few whiffs that I had kinda made me want to eat one, but kind of grossed me out on a whole new level. YAY! Progress! I am a sucker for a Big Mac ... funny thing is I always feel disgusting after eating one. WAY TO GO WILLPOWER! Last evening I was at a BBQ and held my own as well! Ate only the healthy spinach salad, the quinoa salad and these delicious cucumbers and tomatoes. I had just the beef patty from the burgers everyone else was eating and felt perfect! These are all great feats for a first week and I am really impressed with myself. GO CHARIS ... the M.O.B. extraordinaire!
